| “I always feel at my wit’s end when bedtime rolls around and so I’m usually tense and impatient with the kids at this time. The cards are great because they help me to give the boys my full attention for a few important minutes. They love it, I feel like the kind of parent I want to be and we end the day on a positive note.”

What are Little Stars Bedtime Cards?Little Stars Bedtime Cards offer a simple, one-on-one bedtime ritual for parents to enjoy with their young child. The cards help parents send their children to bed feeling loved, important and secure. What’s inside?Little Stars Bedtime Cards is a set of 28 cards. Each card includes discussion points and engaging artwork that help parents find an easy way to affirm their child’s goodness. Included are three bonus “meet the little stars” cards. Children identify with the Little Stars characters and their feelings — giving them an opportunity to explore their own feelings in a fun and positive way. Also included is “A few words for parents” with tips to get you started. How do I use Little Stars Bedtime Cards with my child?Tuck a Little Stars Bedtime Card under your child’s pillow and let them “discover” it — then enjoy a gentle bedtime ritual that helps send your child to sleep feeling loved and important, while also sparking a meaningful and positive exchange. You can choose a card that you find appealing, or a card that you think will touch on an idea you'd like to very gently introduce to your child. The cards feature a simple "I" statement on the front, accompanied by a drawing of one of the Little Stars characters engaged in an activity. The back of the card features between 3 and 5 questions related to the theme on the front. The child looks at the picture on the front while you read the "I" statement to them. When the child is ready, flip the card over and gently, at your child's pace, use the questions on the back of the card to start a discussion about the theme - or whatever other discussion your child wants to start! How do Little Stars Bedtime Cards help make bedtime easier?Little Stars Bedtime Cards can provide a new focus to bedtime by providing an incentive for your child to climb willingly into his/her bed. Using the cards in the way we describe can shift the dialogue from “get to bed” (translation – boring!) to “time for your Little Stars Card” (translation – time for some undivided attention from mom/dad!). What kind of themes are on the cards? There are 28 themes. They include: I am brave, I have lots of love in me, I can do it, I like myself, I like listening, I like dreaming, I have lots of people who love me, I like to work hard, I like to move my body, and more. What kind of questions are on the cards? There are typically 3-6 questions per card. They are intended to help the parent gently initiate discussion about the theme on the card. But it's not required to ask all the questions on the cards - just let the child take the lead if they want to steer the conversation in a different direction. The questions are there as a means to spark discussion, not as items that must be checked off a list. Who uses Little Stars Bedtime Cards?Busy Moms, busy Dads, Grandmas, Grandpas, daycare providers, educators... anyone who finds themselves wanting to enrich the bedtime experience for a young child. Are the Little Stars boys or girls? They're not telling. What species are they? That's up to your imagination...
